Terms and Conditions

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Appointment Time. The arranged appointment time is to be considered as an estimate of the arrival time to within 30 minutes. Problems with preceding jobs and traffic conditions will have an effect on arrival time. We will phone the customer if the arrival time is likely to be more than 30 minutes after the arranged time. If this inconveniences the customer then the appointment time can be re-arranged.

Payment. Payment for the work is to be made on completion of the work. Payment can be made on invoice by prior agreement. Invoice payment must be completed as per the terms of invoice. Payment may be by Cheque, Cash or BACS/Instant Transfer (BACS & Instant Transfer by prior agreement).

Cancellation. If the customer wishes to cancel or re-arrange the appointment then this should be done as soon as possible. 

Parking and Access. We require safe and legal parking and access. On arranging the appointment the customer is to confirm the situation and advise us accordingly. Please ensure that we have adequate access to the property to carry out the work.

INSURANCE

Gleam & Dry’s public liability insurance policy will cover major accidental damage caused. 

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AND ACCEPTANCE OF YOUR BOOKING
You will need to provide us with your e-mail address/telephone number, and we will notify you by e-mail or telephone as soon as possible to confirm receipt of your booking. By ordering our specialist cleaning services by telephone, e-mail, or our website you agree to be bound by our terms and conditions. These terms and conditions shall be governed by the relevant United Kingdom law.

PRIVACY STATEMENT

Gleam & Dry is committed to protecting the privacy of anyone using our site and the confidentiality of any information that you provide us with.

Gleam & Dry does not capture and store any personal information about individuals who access this website, except where you voluntarily choose to give us your personal details via email, or by using an electronic form, or enquiring about any of our services. In these latter cases, incompliance with the EU directive on privacy and electronic communications the personal data you provide electronically to Gleam & Dry will be used exclusively for providing you with the information you have requested.

We do not pass any of your personal data to outside organisations or individuals.

 

 

CHIMNEY SWEEPING TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Health and Safety. Gleam & Dry will take all reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of the customer and occupants at the property. Working at heights is a weather dependant activity. Gleam & Dry may be required to reschedule an appointment for work that involves ascending ladders or the use of mobile access equipment if the weather is judged to compromise safety. If third party equipment has been hired for the work, the customer will be liable for the cost. No other additional charge will be made for our time and the appointment will be re-arranged.

Power Supply. The customer is to supply power for the sweeping or work.

Waste Disposal. Any product of cleaning a chimney or appliance will be disposed of in the customer’s own waste disposal bins (soot is classed as household waste).

Standard of work. Gleam & Dry will take all measures to adequately protect the property from dirt, soot and equipment. Fireplaces will be completely covered. Walkways will be sheeted. Gleam & Dry cannot be held responsible in the event of dirt/soot escaping the protective covering, due to the abnormalities/ill-fitting fire places/surrounds. Gleam & Dry take every care when sweeping chimneys with bird guards fitted. We cannot be held responsible in the event of a bird guard or chimney pot being disturbed (and subsequent damage) when sweeping takes place. If the chimney pot /stack is disturbed during sweeping it is not considered ‘fit for purpose’ and Gleam & Dry cannot be held responsible.

 

 

OVEN CLEANING TERMS AND CONDITIONS 

The Service will be provided at a location agreed with the customer. Gleam & Dry reserves the right to decide, in its sole discretion, upon the suitability of the location and will not be obliged to provide the Service if either the location or the appliance is not safe or suitable. 
If, for any reason, including but not limited to inclement weather, Gleam & Dry is unable to carry out the Service at the time, date or location agreed, Gleam & Dry will make an offer to provide the Service at the Cost agreed at an alternative time and date convenient to both parties.

Replacement parts
Gleam & Dry does not carry out repairs, electrical checks or maintenance/servicing to electrical/gas appliances. Gleam & Dry may, subject to availability, replace sundry items such as bulbs, which will constitute further work at an additional cost. The Customer’s authorisation and agreement will be obtained before this further work will be carried out.

 

CARPET AND UPHOLSTERY CLEANING TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Gleam & Dry ask you to provide us with accurate details, about the carpeted area, e.g. size of rooms, overall condition of the carpets and upholstery, age and any particular staining.

We ask you to clear all fragile and breakable items placed on the floor prior to cleaning.

When required Gleam & Dry can move larger furniture within the room to complete the clean, providing it is safe to do so. 

Gleam & Dry will require access to power and water to complete the clean. 

We supply all the cleaning materials and high powered professional equipment required for cleaning.

All staining will be individually treated thoroughly, but depending on circumstances and cause, Gleam & Dry cannot guarantee that all the staining will be 100% removed.

Gleam & Dry cannot be held responsible for:

Wear, sun damage or discolouring of fabric becoming more visible once dirt has been removed. Existing damage or spillage that cannot be cleaned/removed completely by the technician using appropriate professional cleaning materials. Old stains that cannot be removed using normal cleaning methods especially if chemicals have been used on them prior to our visit.
